About this blog

The Raving What?

“And the waving wheat
Can sure smell sweet
When the wind comes right behind the rain!”

Thus, the inspiration for The Raving Wheat.

We are from Oklahoma. We do not live in teepees or ride horses everywhere. We have electricity, running water and even use that new-fangled Internet machine.

The only other blogs you’ve probably ever heard of from Oklahoma are the Pioneer Woman and The Lost Ogle. While both are very good, both are geared toward very specific audiences: Soccer moms and people who know who the Ogle family is. We are here to change that.

The Raving Wheat was created when we realized the huge need for a blog that A., connects us to the rest of the world, and B., connects the rest of the world to us.

Our goal is to form something like GawkerJezebel and Gizmodo, with elements taken from The Superficial, Geekologie and I Watch Stuff and southern-fry it a bit.

If you read The Raving Wheat, we promise you’ll be the coolest kid in the trailer park. Enjoy.
