Going Once, Going Twice, Going…Downhill?

Gossip Girl 3.03, “The Lost Boy”

This episode was discouraging, to be frank. So I’m not going to spend a lot of time on it. Follow the jump to see what my grumpy fan vibes are all about.

GLupdate 9/29

51d04ct-ldL._SS500_Happy Tuesday everybody! Only one short day in the Emerald City until the next episode of GLEE! And, if you remember correctly, this ep guest stars the amazingly talented, uber precious, emmy-winning Kristin Chenoweth. I’m drooling slightly at the thought.

Anyway, I have a few tidbits for you today, both of which concern music. First off, three new singles have been added to iTunes and are available to download now. One is a cover of Heart’s “Alone” by Matthew Morrison (Will Schuester) and Kristin Chenoweth. It’s phenomenal. The other two–“Maybe This Time” and “Last Name”–are solos by Kristin and are totally fun as well.

The second bit of news is a little bigger. As of yesterday, you can officially pre-order the first GLEE soundtrack, GLEE: The Music, Volume 1. You can do that by clicking right here. There are two different options: you can pre-order the actual CD for $16.99 and you get a GLEE poster or you can order the digital-download version for $12.99. Either way it’s a pretty good deal for a 17-track album. And you better believe that I’m getting a copy. I can’t wait for November 3rd!

Stay GLEEful,

Le Chev

Michael Lohan must be looking pretty good right now.

In a shocking new development in the Gosselin family story, Jon Gosselin has – wait for it – actually been fired from the show.

Yes, you read that correctly. He didn’t quit. He didn’t get another job and move on. Jon Gosselin got fired.

Would you like a fear of failure with that?

Whether you’re interested in the writing and publishing world or you’re just looking for a bit of helpful life advice, this “Robert the Publisher’s Gem of the Day” post on Editorial Ass is actually applicable to pretty much anyone.

The Robert the Publisher posts are usually short and entertaining, but this is a little longer (more than 200 words), entertaining and – bonus – super insightful. Here’s a little teaser for you.

Late last night, Robert and I were both still at work. He called me into his office and told me to sit, then gestured to the little black single-serving coffee maker by his phone. “Want a cup?” he asked.

“Um, ok,” I said. I’m not the kind of person who should be drinking coffee after 10 am but I was already pretty nervous about what he wanted to talk about and didn’t think declining was a good idea.

“Do you take milk?”

“Yes,” I said apprehensively. Was he keeping milk under his desk? If so, how long had it been there? But then I saw the non-dairy creamer on the bookshelf and relaxed–a little.

And you thought your hangover was bad.

I’m not going to lie, sometimes I get really irritated with College Candy for being superfluous or just plain stupid sometimes.

But they recently posted one of my favorite segments, The Morning-After Recap, and this is quite possibly the funniest thing I have read on the Internet. Ever. Maybe with the exception of the Craigslist Best-Of posts. Click through for the link.
